WHAT DO YOU NEED AT THE TIME OF SIGNING?
1. Please review your documents for correct spelling of names and correct dates.
2. Please complete all forms except signatures and notarized areas.
3. Make sure to bring a valid ID for the signing.
4. Loan Signing appointments often require two pieces of ID, not including a credit card.
DOCUMENTS MUST BE PREPARED, DRAFTED AND COMPLETED
I notarize signatures on most documents that are complete. The documents have to be prepared, drafted and completed before I can notarize signatures. If you have any questions about the document or how to complete it, please consult with your attorney! Know what kind of Notary Certificate (Acknowledgment, Jurat, Copy Certification) you need. A notary cannot give advice on which one to use or provide legal counsel of any kind.
BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE PROPER IDENTIFICATION
Among the IDs authorized for use are a driver's license, passport, military ID, or any card containing a signature and photograph issued by a state or federal government office. The ID card must be current and your name must match the document being notarized! Second forms of ID include social security cards, birth certificates, credit cards, etc.
BE WILLING TO DECLARE DOCUMENTS TO BE TRUTHFUL AND ACCURATE
A notary will administer an oath or affirmation in which the signer declares the document to be truthful and accurate. In addition, each signing party must be capable of understanding what they are signing and sign willingly.
